Thessaloniki: Film Festival 2012 – Closing Ceremony and Awards

Photo: Rena Thomaidou

All good things come to an end – as did the Thessaloniki International Film Festival today. The official closing ceremony and award show took place on Saturday, 10th November 2012.

The opening act of the show was led by singer/songwriter Iró on the piano, whereas last year’s winner of the actress in a leading role award, Stefania Goulioti, moderated the show. After the official greetings, the director of the Film Festival Dimitris Eipidis continued with a recap of this year’s event, followed by the award show 2012. We’re overwhelmed with joy that our participation in this year’s event wasn’t only a success but also entertaining and a discovery journey into new film areas, proving that artistic and social solidarity during austerity periods is irremissible. We, for one, are looking forward to the 15th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival taking place from the 15th-23th March 2013 and wish everybody a happy and creative winter.

We’ll drink our last glass of wine with the Mediterranean Sea in sight, pack our things and leave a city as beautiful and precious as this behind.
